On March 6, a New Mexico jury found gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez Reed guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of Ukrainian cameraman Galyna Hutchins. She was responsible for Alec Baldwin's gun, which led to the tragedy on the set of the movie Rust.

According to Fox News, the jury deliberated for about three hours. After the verdict was read, Judge Mary Marlow Sommer ordered Gutierrez Reed to be taken into custody, where she will remain until sentencing.

The gunsmith faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine. The trial of the American, which began on February 21, heard testimony from weapons experts, representatives of the FBI and Santa Fe County authorities, as well as members of the film crew who witnessed the fatal shooting.

The prosecution was mainly based on Gutierrez Reed's behavior as a gunsmith, claiming that she did not do her job properly.
