The writer said that a few weeks after meeting with Donald Trump, during a dinner, Elizabeth II admitted to one of the attendees that she considered the American statesman "very rude." The monarch was especially indignant at the way the 78-year-old man kept looking over her shoulder, as if looking for a more interesting person.

Since Donald Trump's reputation was rather dubious at the time, the official reception was not identified as a "state visit" but instead called a "working one." The event took place at Windsor Castle over a cup of tea in the absence of other high-ranking members of the royal family. Then the politician made Elizabeth II wait for him for 10 minutes on a hot day, which was the first violation of generally accepted norms.
