A jury in New York, United States, has found former President Donald Trump guilty in the case of porn star Stormy Daniels. The US court found Trump guilty of all 34 counts, the main one being forgery of election financial documents.

This was reported by American broadcasters from the courtroom. All charges relate to monthly payments to Trump's aide Michael Cohen. He was the intermediary in the payment of 130 thousand dollars to the adult film star.

It remains to be seen what Trump's punishment will be. The official sentence will be announced only on July 11.

Trump never pleaded guilty. He called the court's decision a "disgrace" and a "rigged process."

According to the investigation, in 2015-2017, the Trump campaign forged financial documents. The money, which passed as payments for legal services, was transferred to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Although Trump has other criminal charges, he has already made history as the first former president to be convicted of a criminal offense.

However, this court verdict will not affect Trump's political path, not even the former president's image. The U.S. Constitution allows people with a court conviction to run for office. And voters from Trump's camp agree with his interpretation of all the charges, saying that it is all a political reprisal.

Theoretically, Donald Trump could be imprisoned. However, this is unlikely to happen. Given Trump's age and lack of previous convictions, he will avoid imprisonment, as the offense is considered "soft".

However, a verdict in this case could have a significant impact on Trump's other cases, including his legal strategy and public perception. It could encourage prosecutors, influence jurors, and change Trump's willingness to make deals or testify in other cases.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, lawyer Michael Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison in this case in 2018. The charges against Trump are based on Cohen's testimony. However, Trump categorically denies that he had sex with Stormy Daniels.
