Ukraine sings an agreement with Czech Republic on combating crime: what it provides for
Ukraine and the Czech Republic have signed an agreement on cooperation in the fight against crime and ensuring public order and security. The previous agreement between Kyiv and Prague in this area was signed more than 25 years ago.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, said this on his Telegram channel. At the joint consultations of the governments of Ukraine and the Czech Republic in Prague, he held a bilateral meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister of the Czech Republic, Vit Rakusan.
According to Klymenko, cooperation with Czech colleagues in the fight against crime is one of the most active among European countries. Since the beginning of 2014, more than two thousand contacts have been made between the police departments of the two countries.
"Together we are successfully implementing the Cybersecurity project and participating in the Ukrainian Task Force, created on the basis of Europol to prevent human trafficking," said the head of Ukraine's internal affairs agency.
The updated agreement, according to the Minister, ensures cooperation in the field of preventing, detecting and combating crime, as well as intensifies the process of information exchange and response to the challenges facing our countries.
"We are strengthening cooperation, combating crime, and taking care of security in our countries," Klymenko wrote.
He added that he also discussed migration policy with Vit Rakusan, as well as logistical support for the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, including those serving in the combat zone.
As previously reported, Ukraine and the Czech Republic have agreed to build a new cartridge factory in Ukraine. In addition, the Czech company will produce assault rifles for Ukraine.
