U.S. to be represented at Peace Summit in Switzerland - White House

The US delegation will take part in the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland. At the same time, there is no specific information about President Joe Biden's attendance.

This was announced at a briefing by White House spokesperson Karin Jean-Pierre. She emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine and providing it with all the necessary opportunities for protection.

"We have been actively involved in each of the previous Ukrainian peace summits. The U.S. government is involved in this. And we will be represented at this upcoming summit," the spokesperson said.

When asked if President Biden would attend the event, she replied that she "has no more specific information to share."

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he would like to see Biden at the Peace Summit in Switzerland. This will demonstrate the highest level of US support, which will have an impact on the leaders of other countries. If the head of the White House ignores the summit in Switzerland, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin will "give a standing ovation."

- India will participate in the Peace Summit. It has not yet been announced who will represent New Delhi.

- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has decided not to participate in the Global Peace Summit on Ukraine, which will be held in June in Switzerland. This is due to the fact that the countries of the so-called Global South have reservations about the sanctions imposed by the West against Russia over its war in Ukraine.

- Zelensky invited Argentine President Javier Milei to participate in the first peace summit in Ukraine. The event will take place in June 2024 in Switzerland.
