The United States began deporting illegal migrants: Mexico refused to accept the plane. Photo
The United States has begun deporting illegal migrants. The first flights departed from Biggs Air Force Base in Texas to Guatemala.
This was reported by Fox News, noting that such an airplane can accommodate 80 people. White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said that deportation flights from the United States have already begun.
"President Trump is sending a strong and clear message to the world: if you enter the United States illegally, you will face serious consequences," she wrote.
"We can confirm that two Department of Defense aircraft made repatriation flights from the United States to Guatemala overnight," a Department of Defense spokesman told Fox News.
NBC News, citing sources, confirmed that two Air Force C-17s en route to Guatemala carrying about 80 people on board took the deportees out of the United States on Thursday night. It turned out that there was a third flight that was supposed to transport the migrants to Mexico, but it never took off.
Mexico refused to accept this deportation flight, not giving the US military plane permission to land. This has at least temporarily disrupted the Trump administration's plans, media sources said.
A White House spokesman said that "the flight issue was administrative and was quickly resolved."
Fox News also reports that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a number of sex offenders, as well as gang members and other criminals among the more than 530 illegal immigrants it caught on another day of Trump's mass deportation campaign.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, US President Donald Trump has officially closed the southern border to illegal immigrants. He signed a decree that suspends the entry of foreigners trying to illegally enter the United States through the border with Mexico.
It also became known that Trump ordered to increase the military presence on the border with Mexico. 1,500 troops were deployed there. And this is only the first wave: it is expected that there will be 2,200 US troops on this section of the border.
