The next meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense in the "Ramstein" format will take place on February 12. Unlike previous meetings, the 26th meeting will be chaired by the United Kingdom, not the United States.
This was reported by Radio Liberty on February 5, citing sources. The outlet did not provide any other details.
On January 14, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that the next "Ramstein'' will be held in Brussels before the Munich Security Conference scheduled for February 14-16.
Pistorius also said that it is not yet known what will happen to the Contact Group in the future, as it will depend on the new US administration.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the 25th "Ramstein" took place at the eponymous base in Germany on January 9. As a result, Berlin announced the transfer to Ukraine of 50 additional missiles to the IRIS-T air defense systems, 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, and 22 Leopard 1A5 tanks.
The United States, for its part, announced a new $500 million aid package for Ukraine.
The 25th "Ramstein" meeting was attended by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Together with Boris Pistorius, he discussed military aid and support for weapons production in Ukraine.
