Ukraine has been named the most dangerous country to visit in 2024 in the security category. Along with our country, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and Somalia received this title.
The International SOS medical consulting company assigned the highest - "emergency" - level of warning in the "security" category to the above countries. Experts have compiled an annual map, although this year's interactive infographic for the first time reflects a rating based on the dangers of climate change. This was reported by The Independent.
Meanwhile, the safest countries are located in Europe. These are Iceland, Luxembourg, Norway, Switzerland, and Denmark.
In the "medical" category, countries with a "very high" risk include Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, North Korea, the Palestinian Territories, Haiti, Libya, Niger, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Sudan, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Eritrea, Burundi, and Somalia.
The countries with "very high" climate change risks include: Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Chad, Niger, Mali, Nigeria, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mozambique.
International SOS said that its 2024 risk map helps provide "a better understanding of the broader security situation in countries to which staff may travel or work."
