Images from the scene show that the fire started inside the building. Officials of the aggressor country have not yet commented on what happened and are not talking about possible causes of the fire.

Propaganda media write that the preliminary cause of the fire was an explosion in the warehouse of the FSB Border Service.

According to eyewitnesses, ammunition allegedly detonated in the warehouse. The territory of the building is cordoned off. Emergency Ministry units are working at the scene. The press service of the FSB Border Service has not yet commented on the situation.

Police have encircled the area around the scene and are not allowing traffic. Law enforcement sources also told the Kremlin media that two people were injured in the explosion. At the same time, local residents say that they heard "not even a pop, but an explosion".

Later, it became known that rescuers found the body of one victim at the scene of the fire at the FSB Border Service building in Rostov-on-Don.

"The explosion was very loud, not a pop. We heard one explosion, our friends who live closer to the fire site say there were two, but we clearly heard only one," eyewitnesses say.
