Russians did not make it to the opening of the UNESCO conference in Paris due to visa formalities

Russian representatives were unable to attend the 42nd session of the UNESCO General Conference, which opened on November 7 in Paris. France issued them visas late, and such cases have become systematic.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova complained about the country's "blatant non-compliance with its obligations," according to a statement on the ministry's Telegram. According to her, the delegation of the terrorist country included the Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Russian Foreign Ministry A.S. Alimova, as well as an employee of the Russian Commission for UNESCO responsible for communication and information.

Secretary of the Commission T.E. Dovgalenko also did not attend the meeting of the National Commissions of UNESCO member states on the eve of the opening of the General Conference due to the late issuance of a visa, the representative of the terrorist agency noted.

"That's what declarations of commitment to international law, democratic values and freedom of speech are worth," Zakharova said, apparently "forgetting" about all the treaties that Russia violated by unleashing a war in Ukraine.

According to her, these are just a few examples of a number of similar egregious cases. The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry called on UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay to intervene.

Earlier, Zakharova made accusations against international organizations. The diplomat called the suspension of Russian athletes from world competitions an injustice set up by "Western and American regimes." She also added the absurd idea that Russian athletes are allegedly adored by fans around the world.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- Zakharova said that the IOC's decision to expel the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) will lead "to the corrosion of the entire world sport". The diplomat is convinced that the Committee does everything it does solely under pressure from Washington.

- Zakharova also demands that the IOC lift sanctions against Russian athletes. The diplomat criticized the organization after its call to prevent discrimination on the basis of nationality because of Israel's war against Hamas.
