The aggressor country of Russia, which continues to wage war against Ukraine, also manages to advise the Hamas group in its aggression against Israel and help Iran with its nuclear program. However, internally, Russia is a dying country, and sooner or later it will face a serious crisis.

This was stated by the famous journalist and historian Anne Applebaum in an interview with Welt. According to her, the crisis in Russia will come regardless of who will be its leader.

"It is a dying country that is fundamentally unstable. Not only do we not know who the next leader will be, we don't even know who will elect him. Therefore, whenever there is a change at the top, for whatever reason, there will be a crisis," the journalist believes.

Applebaum is convinced that the main goal of Russian dictator Putin is that the defeat of Ukraine could change the power in Europe and the world. This is one of the biggest threats now.

"Our belief that Ukraine cannot win is the reason why it has not won yet," she emphasized.

The journalist also noted that Iran, in its confrontation with Israel, wants to seize the moment while the United States and Europe are too busy with the war in Ukraine.

At the same time, Europe's diplomatic and military influence on the situation in the Middle East is limited, so European leaders should focus on confronting Russia and not allow the country to win the war with Ukraine. It is also necessary to defeat Iran's ally in order to weaken the power of the "autocratic alliance."

As OBOZ.UA reported, next week NATO defense ministers will meet to discuss a new strategy for relations with Russia. This issue has become even more urgent due to the war in Ukraine, which has significantly strained relations between the Alliance and Moscow.
