Orban calls China a "pillar of the world order" and backs its "peace plan" for the war in Ukraine

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban supported China's "peace plan" aimed at "ending the war" in Ukraine. He called this country "one of the pillars" of the multi-center world order of our time and a dominant player in global economic and political processes.

The Hungarian politician sucked up to Chinese President Xi Jinping, who paid an official visit to Budapest on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This was reported by Hirado.

Orban told the Chinese leader that all of Europe is on the side of war today, with the only exception being Hungary, which "calls for an immediate ceasefire and peace talks" and supports all international efforts to achieve peace.

"So we support the Chinese peace initiative presented by Xi Jinping. This conflict, this war, has no solution on the battlefield; there are only dead people and destruction," the Hungarian prime minister said.

Earlier, in an interview with an independent Hungarian publication, Orban said that the European Union is not the same as it was 20 years ago. According to him, the EU is in an economic crisis because European leaders "dragged the continent into war" by helping Ukraine. Thus, Orban was outraged that the West was too active in helping Ukraine. This, in his opinion, leads to the suffering of the European middle class.

Earlier, in his trip to Europe, Chinese President Xi Jinping, in addition to France, also included Serbia and Hungary, the leaders of which are considered the most pro-Russian in Europe. By visiting Russia's satellites and talking about "NATO as one of the culprits of the Ukrainian crisis," the Chinese leader is making it clear what he thinks about the issue.
