This was stated by Philip Lazarini, head of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA). He called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

" I'm devastated. More than 100 UNRWA colleagues have been confirmed dead... Teachers, nurses, doctors, support staff," Lazarini listed.

According to the UN, 101 UNRWA staff members have been killed in the Gaza Strip since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. Among them are teachers, school principals, engineers, doctors, psychologists, support staff, sanitation and maintenance workers.

Lazarins called for an immediate ceasefire to stop the bloodshed.

"UNRWA is in grief, Palestinians are in grief, Israelis are in grief. An immediate humanitarian ceasefire is needed to put an end to this tragedy," the head of the Agency emphasized.
