The Israeli Defense Forces announced that over 14,000 terrorist targets were attacked over the past month. The IDF also destroyed many Hamas militants, key infrastructure and weapons.

Mark Regev, a senior adviser to Netanyahu, later noted that Israel's postwar plan does not provide for a "prolonged occupation" of Gaza, but that Israel will be responsible for security in the region. Regev noted that a distinction should be made between "security presence and political control."

"Israeli security forces must be present, but this does not mean that Israel is occupying Gaza, it does not mean that Israel will control the people of Gaza," the adviser said.
