According to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, after processing data from more than 70% of the polling stations, the pro-Russian Georgian Dream party is leading the election. For their part, the opposition parties announced that they would not recognize the election results. All of them decided to join the protests announced by the United National Movement, the party of Mikheil Saakashvili.

According to the Commission, Georgian Dream received 53% of the vote. The Coalition for Change received 11.1%; the United National Movement - 9.8%; Strong Georgia - 9%; and Gakharia for Georgia - 8.24%. Other parties did not pass the 5% threshold at all.

Immediately after the data was made public, former President Mikheil Saakashvili's United National Movement party said it would not recognize the results of the parliamentary elections.

"The Georgian Central Election Commission has fulfilled Ivanishvili's dirty order. United National Movement is going into emergency mode," said party leader Tina Bokuchava.

The Coalition for Change, which also does not recognize the election results, said that the Georgian Dream is conducting a "constitutional coup."

"The election fraud scheme has been deciphered, and the public will learn more about it on 27 October. The elections have been stolen. This is a constitutional coup, Mriya is the author of the constitutional coup and will be brought to justice in accordance with the law of Georgia, Nika Gvaramia.

"We are outraged by what the Central Commission dared to write. The results do not reflect the will of the Georgian people. These figures are contrary to the historical and current elections in Georgia, we are fighting for every vote, using all legal means to protect the democratic and European choice of the Georgian people Source: https://censor.net/en/n3516965," stated the leader of the Strong Georgia Party, Anna Dolidze.

Gakharia's For Georgia party also made a statement about large-scale fraud. All of these parties also announced protests, but have not yet specified where and when.

As reported, Georgia held parliamentary elections on October 26, which, according to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, is a "referendum for war or peace." In other words, the ruling pro-Russian Georgian Dream party explicitly told voters that if they are not elected, there will be a war in the country, just like in Ukraine.

For her part, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili warned that she could be arrested if the ruling party wins the parliamentary elections.

The European Union has repeatedly threatened to terminate the visa-free regime with Georgia in the event of further "democratic backsliding" in the country and after "years of increasingly authoritarian rule." It also expressed doubts about Georgia's future in the EU.
