Embassy of Ukraine in Israel received permission to evacuate its citizens from Gaza: details
Ukraine will be able to evacuate its citizens from the city of Gaza, where the Israeli Defense Forces' ground operation against Hamas terrorists is underway. In the first group , 101 Ukrainians are to be evacuated from the enclave.
Our embassy in Israel has received the appropriate permission. Ambassador Yevhen Korniychuk told OBOZ.UA about this in a commentary.
According to him, in total, the country has requested the evacuation of 367 Ukrainian citizens from the Gaza Strip through Israel. Currently, the first group of 101 people has been granted permission to leave.
"The rest are promised to be released on Wednesday (November 8 - Ed.). Also, at our request, 51 citizens of Moldova are being released," the ambassador said.
The diplomat added that the operation is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, November 7. Ukrainian embassy staff are waiting at the border with Egypt and Gaza.
"Everything is coordinated so far. I hope we will finish withdrawing everyone on Thursday," Korniychuk explained.
As of the end of October, 25 Ukrainian citizens have been killed in the war in Israel waged by Hamas terrorists. Of these, 21 Ukrainians were killed in the country, and four more in the Gaza Strip, including three children. One Ukrainian is also missing in the enclave. Six of our citizens were injured.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, following the attack of the Hamas terrorist group on Israel in early October, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine established an operational headquarters to help Ukrainians. Citizens were urged to pay close attention to all warnings and instructions from Tel Aviv.
