DIU said Russia knew Hamas was preparing to attack Israel: how Moscow wants to take advantage of the situation
The leadership of the aggressor country Russia knew that the Hamas terrorist movement was preparing to attack Israel. Moreover, Russia provided the militants with weapons captured by the Russian occupiers in the war against Ukraine.
Now the Kremlin is trying to use the situation with Hamas' attack on Israel to spread propaganda against Ukraine. This was stated by Andriy Cherniak, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, the Russian leadership knew that Hamas was preparing a terrorist attack on Israel. The day before, the aggressor country handed over to the militants weapons that the Russian occupiers managed to capture during the war against Ukraine.
Ukrainian intelligence is also aware of the cooperation of Russian private military companies with Hamas. Palestinian and Russian militants are exchanging experience in combat operations.
At the same time, the DIU representative is confident that Moscow will try to use the fact of Hamas' attack on Israel to spread further propaganda against Ukraine. Russia will also try to divert the world's attention from Russian aggression.

As a reminder, Russia plans to use the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel as a pretext for a large-scale provocation against Ukraine. Russian intelligence services have already handed over trophy weapons captured during the fighting in Ukraine, manufactured in the United States and the European Union.
Earlier it was reported that the war in the Middle East could push Ukraine into the background. Now the US will work on two fronts: Ukrainian and Israeli.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, on October 9, the Israel Defense Forces regained control of the border areas that had been seized by Hamas militants since the invasion on October 7 and moved to a new phase of the operation. To conduct it, 300,000 reservists were mobilized in the country.
At the end of the day, one of the top Hamas officials, Mousa Abu Marzook, said that the terrorists were open to negotiations with Israel on a possible truce. He claimed that this was because they had already "achieved their goals."
