In addition, Xi Jinping called it necessary to "persistently pursue progress, preserving stability, promoting stability through progress."

As you know, China celebrates the New Year when the clock strikes 18:00 in Ukraine.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the head of China voices such statements. In particular, in his New Year's address on the eve of 2022, Xi Jinping said: "National reunification is the common hope of the people of the two shores of the Taiwan Strait. I sincerely hope that all Chinese can move forward together toward a beautiful future of the Chinese nation."

As reported by OBOZ.UA, China earlier appointed as head of the Ministry of Defense 62-year-old Navy veteran and former Navy chief Dong Jun, who is not under U.S. sanctions. According to Bloomberg, this will help ease the way for the resumption of military talks with the U.S., which have been on hold since Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan in 2022.
