You will pay with blood: occupiers offer bank debtors to contract in the Russian army in Crimea

The occupiers are recruiting people in Crimea who have debts to the bank to fight

The aggressor country Russia has invented a new way to recruit manpower for the war against Ukraine. Thus, the invaders offered bank debtors in the temporarily occupied Crimea to sign up for a contract with the Russian army.

In particular, this phenomenon was recorded in Sevastopol. This was reported by the Information Resistance project on Telegram.

"Pay with blood: the occupiers offer Sevastopol debtors to join the Russian army. This is the Russian world," the message said.

People who have accumulated substantial debts to the bank that they are apparently unable to repay are lured into contract service. Debtors who are subject to enforcement proceedings and may face criminal liability receive leaflets with relevant offers.

They are literally offered to pay off their debts by risking their lives in the war against Ukraine. In return, the occupiers offer federal and regional payments, as well as financial assistance to repay the debt.

This recruitment, however, does not look voluntary. "You have to come to an information meeting. You will be provided with all necessary explanations," the leaflet reads.
