Yevlash: AFU advances up to 400 meters in different areas south of Bakhmut

Ukrainian Defense Forces have advanced up to 400 meters in various parts of the southern flank of Bakhmut (Donetsk region) over the past day. The soldiers need to consolidate on the gained areas, and then it will be possible to announce the details of their successful advance.
This was reported by Ilia Yevlash, spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on Radio Svoboda on October 6. "I won't specify where exactly..." he said, noting that the enemy could use the details for its own purposes (to watch the video, scroll to the end).
"We have to wait for a pause when we can gain a foothold and can talk about it openly. Yes, we are making progress. We continue to drive out the enemies," Yevlash said.
In particular, Russian invaders are trying to counterattack to regain lost ground near the village of Andriivka. The enemy is using the tactics of "meat assaults" again. Various units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces are jointly repelling enemy attacks, preventing the occupiers from advancing.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces spokesman added that serious fighting continues in the vicinity of the railroad in Klyshchiivka. The country's defenders are consolidating their positions, although the overall situation is "complicated and very tense."
"The enemy is using hundreds, if not thousands of artillery shells there every day. However, we are holding the front despite this," Yevlash said.
On October 6, 34 combat engagements took place at the frontline in Ukraine. Our heroes had a partial success east of Andriivka in the Bakhmut direction, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. More details can be found in the operational summary here.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the 3rd Brigade released GoPro footage of clearing a forest belt in the Bakhmut direction.
