In recent days, air alerts have become more frequent in Ukraine due to the threat of enemy ballistic missile attacks from the north. This is due to the active offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

"The Russians in the Kursk region are trying to actively shoot down the "gifts" of our military with their air defense systems and respond by shelling the border area.

Accordingly, as soon as the exits from enemy operational and tactical missile systems (OTMS) are detected, we are alerted to the threat of ballistics.

According to ISW, on the morning of January 6, the Ukrainian army broke through in three areas in the Kursk region.

Ukrainian troops conducted mechanized attacks with armored vehicles, advancing south and southwest of Berdin, and entering the southern part of the town.

The Ukrainian armed forces also intensified their offensive in the area of Leonidove. They attacked near Pushkarnoye, east of Sudzha.

"Ukrainian forces are using long-range fire to block Russian rear areas and electronic warfare systems to suppress Russian drones supporting the Ukrainian mechanized units' offensive. This indicates that the Armed Forces of Ukraine operating in the Kursk region are using more effective tactics of general warfare," analysts of the Institute for War Studies noted.

Ukrainian soldiers are comprehensively destroying the enemy in the Kursk region. During one of the combat missions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine cleared the positions of Russian and North Korean troops, causing them losses. The corresponding video was published on the official social networks of the Armed Forces.

The deputy commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the 36th Separate Mechanized Brigade, nicknamed "Wulf," said that DPRK soldiers are easy prey for Ukrainian drones in the Kursk region. According to him, this is because the North Korean military does not know the specifics of drone warfare.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that on January 3-4, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated almost a battalion of DPRK soldiers and Russian marines near the village of Makhnovka in the Kursk region. The Head of State expressed gratitude to the Special Operations Forces and the soldiers of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade for their professionalism and efficiency.
