After North Korea's involvement in the Russian-Ukrainian war, South Korea may adjust its strategy of supporting Ukraine. In particular, Seoul does not rule out direct arms supplies to the Ukrainian army.

According to South Korean President Yoon Seok Yeol, his country will adjust its support strategy for Ukraine depending on the level of North Korea's involvement in the war. This was reported by Deutsche Welle.

South Korea's policy does not provide for the supply of lethal weapons to countries in conflict. However, due to the deployment of DPRK troops in Russia, Seoul may change this approach.

"Now, depending on the level of North Korea's involvement, we will gradually adjust our support strategy in stages. This means that we do not rule out the possibility of providing weapons," the South Korean president said.

In addition, Yoon Seok Yeol noted that his office will monitor developments related to the operations of North Korean soldiers. If Seoul decides to provide weapons to Kyiv, the initial batch will be defensive.

"If we proceed with the provision of weapons, we will give preference to defensive weapons," the head of state said.

As a reminder, in almost three years of full-scale war against Ukraine, the terrorist country Russia has almost completely emptied its Soviet-era ammunition depots. The use of a huge number of shells – up to 50,000 per day – forces the Russians to rely on supplies from their allies.

Earlier, South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul called on United Nations officials to "strongly condemn" North Korea's actions. This refers to the DPRK's assistance to the Russians in the war against Ukraine.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy blamed his partners for the lack of reaction to the DPRK's participation in the war against Ukraine. According to him, Putin is working out the West's reaction to his actions, and if it is the same as during the seizure of Crimea, the aggressor will go further, increasing the North Korean contingent.
