"We must not waste time": Zelenskyy shares how many guided bombs, missiles and drones Russia used this week and reminds of the need for air defense systems

Consequences of Russian shelling

Over the past week, the Russians have dropped about 900 guided bombs on Ukrainian cities and villages. They also launched dozens of missiles and hundreds of kamikaze drones.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. As usual, he showed a poignant video of the aftermath of Russian strikes to remind our partners how much Ukraine needs help, including in strengthening its air defense.

"This week alone, Russians used about 900 guided bombs, more than 40 missiles and 400 attack drones of various types against Ukraine," the head of state said.

Over the past week, the invaders have targeted Kherson and its region, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odesa, Kharkiv and its region, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy. The footage of the destruction clearly confirms that the enemy is primarily targeting Ukrainian civilians, their homes, cars, and local businesses that support the life of cities and villages.

According to Zelenskyy, it is precisely because Russia is committing outright, unconcealed terror, violating all international norms, that the world must stop it and prevent it from killing both civilians in the rear and soldiers on the front line.

"No nation should face such trials alone. Our partners have the opportunity to provide the much needed air defense systems, to make decisions to ensure our long-range capability, to ensure timely delivery of military aid to our soldiers. We must not waste time - we need to showcase our determination. We are working as hard as we can to enable Ukraine to fully respond to Russian terror," the president emphasized.

Earlier, Zelenskyy asked Scholz for weapons and support on Ukraine's way to NATO. However, according to BILD, the German chancellor both refused to lift restrictions on strikes on Russian rear and did not approve of Ukraine's accelerated accession to the North Atlantic Alliance.

At a recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, he announced a new military aid package worth about €1.5 billion. However, he noted that the country would not send heavy military equipment to Kyiv. According to BILD, Berlin "does not believe Ukraine will be able to conduct a successful counteroffensive in the near future."
