"We have disoriented the enemy": Budanov assesses the risk of Kremlin's use of nuclear weapons and tells how many troops Russia has deployed in the war

The Battle of Moshchun and the battles in Gostomel, Kyiv region, played a significant role in Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. Thanks to the successes of Ukraine's defenders at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, our army completely destroyed the terrorist state's plan.

This conviction was expressed by the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Major General Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with the Different People project. "It is a fact that we disoriented the enemy," he said, commenting on the events in Kyiv region at the beginning of the great war (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the news).

"The first day and the battles in Moshchun - I believe these were two such events that ultimately destroyed the plans of the Russian Federation. Completely, to the end. Then the knocking out of Irpin - it put an end to it. But Moshchun and the battles in Hostomel... These are the events that simply destroyed their plan," said the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

The country's chief intelligence officer also believes that the threat of nuclear war, which Russia regularly threatens the world with, is artificially conjured up, and in theory it is possible, but the probability is almost zero. All of today's actions will end in a strategic defeat for the Russian Federation.

Budanov said that the Russian Federation's grouping of approximately 370,000 military personnel, 20,000 National Guard and approximately 7,000 - as of this moment - a combination of various paramilitary units are involved in military operations against Ukraine. In this regard, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine stressed that the potential for serious offensive actions of the Russian army has been completely exhausted - they currently have serious potential only for defence.

In the same interview, Budanov said that Ukraine's goal in ending the war is to create a demilitarised zone with the terrorist state of Russia. It should be at least 100 km long.
