"We can't let Putin win": Stoltenberg spoke about the difficult situation on the battlefield in Ukraine

Stoltenberg speaks about the difficult situation on the battlefield in Ukraine

The situation on the battlefield in Ukraine remains dire. NATO countries and European allies should help Kyiv more to prevent Russian dictator Vladimir Putin from winning.

This was stated by NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels (Belgium), Ukrinform reports. He expressed hope that the issue of Ukraine would be discussed at the planned business breakfast within the EU Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs.

"We cannot allow President Putin to win. Ukraine must remain as a sovereign independent state in Europe, and it is in our interest to support it," the NATO Secretary-General said.

Regarding possible negotiations with Russia to end the war, Stoltenberg once again emphasized that this is up to Ukraine alone. The task of the allies is to help and demonstrate their commitment to the rule of international law.

In addition, according to the NATO Secretary-General, no one can say when this war will end. At the moment, there is no desire on the part of Russia or Putin to negotiate. Therefore, the partners should increase assistance to convince the Kremlin leader that he cannot win.

"If we want to solve it through negotiations, the way to do that is to continue military support for Ukraine," Stoltenberg said.

Earlier, Stoltenberg warned that Ukraine's partners should prepare for a long war. He is convinced that only continued support for the Ukrainian army will help Ukraine preserve its sovereignty and independence, defend its democratic values and make Russian President Vladimir Putin understand that Russia will not be able to win the war against Ukraine.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- Ukraine needs high-quality weapons and more military assistance, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said. Investing in Ukrainian security is a contribution to the security of the entire North Atlantic Alliance.

- The NATO Secretary General said that the partners will continue to supply weapons to Ukraine, despite Slovakia's decision to stop military assistance. NATO believes that this will contribute to their security.
