The woman emphasized that she could not just receive humanitarian aid and sought to return the favor as much as she could. In particular, she maintained order around the house.
"We need to help! It's war, we have to help. I helped them to rake leaves, slowly, as much as I could, as much as I could. And that's how my grandmother lived, doing her physical exercises," the old lady says.
The woman does not hide the fact that it was scary during the Russian bombing. She and her granddaughter often went down to the basement. When the relatives decided to evacuate, the grandmother refused to leave and said she would stay in her home.
"Of course, I was scared. My hearing is not good, so I didn't feel it. However, when it hit the house and the apartment, I jumped out of bed. But my granddaughter was very afraid, and we went to the basement. We went to the basement all the time. And then she couldn't stand it anymore and decided to leave. She tried to take me, but I didn't go," the woman said.
In addition, the grandmother emphasized that she is trying to support the Ukrainian military with all her might and even transferred her pension to charity. She wished the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers success in their battles against the Russian invaders.
"I even sent my pension. I told them to send it to the military. I wish them success, I wish this bloodshed to end and for them all to return home. Everyone is waiting. Children are waiting. Many children have become orphans. And how many Russians took children there," the grandmother said.
Ukrainians on the social media were touched by the kindness and sincerity of this woman. People also noted that many people should take an example from this old woman.
As a reminder, members of the teenage volunteer organization "Krykhitky" have united to help Ukrainian soldiers. Thanks to their active work, the teenagers raised hundreds of thousands of hryvnias to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, it was reported that in the Sumy region, the father of the fallen soldier Oleksandr Zozulia donated the financial assistance he received from the state to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The man said that his son voluntarily joined the army back in 2014, and all this time he has been defending the country from Russian aggression.
