Ukrainian Defense Forces hold back Russian invaders' offensive: the General Staff names the hottest areas

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are actively restraining the offensive of the Russian occupiers, who continue to launch missile, air, and artillery strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages. There has been a sharp increase in the number of combat engagements, which has already reached 107 over the past day.

The situation is the hottest in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions. This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Today, Russian troops conducted numerous air strikes and artillery attacks on the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv regions. 5 airstrikes were using 11 guided bombs, as well as numerous artillery attacks that damaged localities.

In particular, the enemy attacked the following areas: Sumy, Tokari, Nova Sloboda, Yampil and Yunakivka. The towns of Sydorivka, Novovasylivka, Slavhorod, Popivka, Vysoke, Pokrovka, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Zarichchya, Dmytrivka, Mykhalchyna Sloboda and Chuykivka came under artillery fire.

In the Kharkiv sector, there was one firefight near Vovchansk, which is currently ongoing.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian troops attempted to storm our positions near Synkivka, Hlushkivka, and other localities 14 times.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked the areas of Druzheliubivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, and others, 11 firefights were registered since the beginning of the day.

The enemy continues active attempts to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops in the Siversk sector but receives a decent rebuff from our defenders. Near Ivano-Daryivka, the enemy tried once to push our units back.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops tried to displace our units once since the beginning of the day and also launched an attack on Chasovyi Yar with unguided aerial missiles.

In the Toretsk sector, the enemy attacked our positions eight times with the support of attack and bomber aircraft, and fighting is currently ongoing near New York.

In the Pokrovsk sector, fierce fighting is taking place in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, and others. The enemy made 31 assaults on our positions, and attacks continued in eight locations. Enemy aircraft also struck near the towns of Oleksandropil and Selydove, using UAVs and unguided aerial missiles.

In the Kurakhove sector, the enemy attacked our units 32 times, trying to advance near Krasnohorivka and Heorhiivka.

In the Vremivsk sector, two enemy assaults towards Vodiane and Kostiantynivka were repelled.

In the Orikhivsk sector, the enemy tried to advance once near Robotyne but was fiercely repulsed.

In the Prydniprovsk sector, five enemy attacks were repelled, but the enemy did not succeed.

Earlier it was reported that on the night of Wednesday, September 4, the aggressor country Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine, using Shahed-type attack drones and missiles of various types. In the evening, the enemy launched UAVs, and after 02:00, at least five Tu-95MS strategic bombers took to the skies.
