Contrary to the offensive in several directions in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts, the enemy is receiving a strong response from the Defense Forces. Over a 24-hour period, on May 28, Ukrainian aviation conducted 13 strikes against areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated, as well as two strikes against anti-aircraft missile systems.

This was reported by the General Staff of the AFU, reporting the daily situation on Facebook. Alas, the Ukrainian side is also subjected to strikes, including settlements with civilians.

"The Russian Federation launched another massive strike on the territory of Ukraine during the night, using Iranian Shahed UAVs, 58 of 59 were destroyed by our defenders. All in all, the enemy launched 91 air strikes and fired about 25 rocket launchers at our troops' positions and settlements during the day," our military said.

Manifestations of the enemy's actions were recorded by the General Staff of the AFU:

• in the Kupyansk sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives near Masiutivka, Kharkiv region, over the course of the day. He conducted an air strike near Kyslivka, Kharkiv region. Artillery and mortar attacks by the enemy came from Kolodyazne, Chervonyi Pershyi, Figolivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichne, Zakhidne, Masiutivka, Kyslivka, Berestove in the Kharkiv region;

• In the Liman sector, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions over the last day. It conducted air strikes in the areas of Yahidne in Kharkiv region; Serhiivka, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Ivanivka, Spirne, Rai-Oleksandrivka, Vesele in Donetsk region. Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Torske, Verkhnekamyane and Spirne in Donetsk region were shelled with artillery;
• in the Bakhmut sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives northeast of Orikhovo-Vasylivka and in the direction of Ivanovo. He carried out air strikes near the settlements of Predtechine, Bila Hora, Kurdyumivka, New York, Yablunivka in the Donetsk region. Vasylivka, Pryvillia, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Hochynnyk Yar, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Predtechine, Kostyantynivka and Pivnichne in Donetsk region suffered from enemy shelling;

• In the Avdiivka sector, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions. It launched air strikes in the areas of Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomayske. It also fired artillery at the localities of Avdiivka, Pervomayske and Karlivka in Donetsk region.
• in the Mariinka sector, our defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks in the area of the town of Mariinka. The enemy launched an air strike near Maryinka. In addition, hostile attacks took place in Peremoha, Donetsk region;
• in the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy launched an air strike near Vuhledar. They shelled the settlements of Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka and Shakhtarske;
• in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to conduct defensive actions. It fired at the settlements of Vremivka, Novopil in Donetsk region; Olgivske, Gulyaypole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Mali Shcherbaki and Stepnohrysk in Zaporizhzhia region; Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Vesele, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Lvov, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Dniprovske, Kizomis in Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

Our defenders also receive from intelligence a regular situation in non-controlled territories. In the territory of Luhansk region, where the enemy has concentrated its main forces, 80 people from the "Storm-Z" unit have already deserted.

"They voluntarily left combat positions. Also, in the area of Bakhmut, defected about 30 people from the "Wagner" PMC, which also voluntarily left the combat positions, having stolen military equipment," - stated in the message.

In the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region, the invaders are trying by all means to impose passportization of the population with a document with a two-headed eagle. Thus, local citizens with a Ukrainian passport, driver's license and technical passport for a vehicle are threatened with confiscation if they refuse to obtain Russian documents
