About 28 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defence Forces and Russian occupation forces took place in the frontline in Ukraine yesterday. Our defenders repelled an enemy attack near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region, as well as at the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions in Donetsk region.

At the same time, the Ukrainian army continues to advance in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions of Zaporizhzhia region, consolidating the achieved positions and carrying out counter-battery measures. This is stated in the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook on 7 August.

Russian shelling and the situation at the front

During the day, the enemy launched 2 missile and 33 air strikes, and fired 50 times from MLRS at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, civilians were killed and wounded.

At the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 25 localities, including Mikhalchyna Sloboda and Khrenivka in Chernihiv region; Basivka, Stepok, Pavlivka in Sumy region; and Udy, Okhrimivka and Neskuchne in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk sector, our soldiers are holding steadfastly, successfully repelling enemy attacks near Sinkivka, north of Ivanivka in Kharkiv region and south of Novoselivske in Luhansk region. The enemy launched air strikes near Kruhlyakivka and Kucherivka in the Kharkiv region. More than 10 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Krasne Pershe, Petropavlivka, Kupyansk Vuzlovyi in Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy shelled Kuzmyne and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Verkhnekamyane, Spirne and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Andriivka, Kurdyumivka and Druzhba in the Donetsk region. Over 10 localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Orikhove-Vasylivka, Markove and Chasiv Yar.

In the Avdiivka sector, under heavy fire from enemy aircraft and artillery, our defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops in the Avdiivka area. Nevelske, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Pivnichne, Novokalynove and Pervomayske in Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Mariupol sector, Ukrainian defence forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the vicinity of Maryinka. The enemy launched an air strike there. Krasnohorivka, Gostre, Heorhiivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy conducted an air strike near Vidradne in the Donetsk region. Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne, Staromayorske and Rivne in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka and Orikhove. More than 10 localities came under artillery fire, including Novodarivka, Levadne, Komyshuvakha, Orikhiv, Pyatikhatky in Zaporizhzhia region and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovs'k region.

In the Kherson sector, the enemy launched an air strike near Odradokamyanka, Kherson region. More than 10 localities came under enemy artillery fire, including Olgivka, Sadove, Kherson and Kizomys in Kherson region.

Occupants' losses over the day

Yesterday, the defence forces attacked 13 areas of Russian concentration: in particular, Ukrainian aviation carried out 9 strikes, and missile and artillery units hit 2 control points and 1 area of personnel concentration.

Aviation also destroyed enemy weapons and military equipment, while missile and artillery troops destroyed five artillery pieces at firing positions and one enemy radar station.

- The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine conducted another successful operation to clear the Ukrainian land of the enemy. An entire unit of the Russian missile forces was eliminated on the left bank of Kherson;

- Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said that the Ukrainian counter-offensive is difficult due to the powerful defensive lines of the occupiers, but Ukrainian troops will move on.
