Ukrainian Armed Forces strike at occupants' training camp in Donetsk, propagandists in Crimea keep silent about Kakhovka HPP explosion - General Staff

Ukraine is in the 471st day of a full-scale war, with Russian invading forces focusing their main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka directions, where heavy fighting continues. The day before, the Defence Forces engaged the enemy in 43 combat engagements there, repelling their attacks.

A few days ago, the defenders destroyed a training base of the invaders on the outskirts of temporarily occupied Donetsk, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a morning report on June 9. It added that in Crimea, propagandists are hiding from the population the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by the Russian military and the consequences of this disaster.

Last night, the terrorist state of Russia launched another missile and air strike on Ukraine. Over the past day, its troops carried out seven missile attacks, two of which targeted the peaceful city of Uman, and 43 air strikes, as well as 79 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. There are civilians among the victims.

In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, the operational situation has not changed significantly. In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi sectors, the Russian Armed Forces maintain a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine and are reinforcing the border protection group with territorial troops. The enemy conducted air strikes on Miropilske, Sinne and Severinivka in Sumy region. It also carried out mortar and artillery shelling of the towns of Seredyna-Buda, Atynske, Besalivka, Miropillia, Grabivske, Velyka Pysarivka and Ponomarenky in Sumy region; Krasne, Morozivets, Lukiantsi, Staritsa, Gatyshche, Vovchansk, Chuhunivka in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk sector, the invaders attacked from the air near Kyslivka. Kamyanka, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Kyslivka, Tabaivka, Berestove in Kharkiv region and Novoselivske in Luhansk region came under artillery and mortar fire from Russia.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Vesele in the Donetsk region. They shelled Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Verkhnekamyane, Torske, Spirne, Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, the occupiers advanced towards Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky and Bila Hora, but were unsuccessful. At the same time, they attacked from the air near Bila Hora and Toretsk in the Donetsk region. Their shelling hit Vasyukivka, Minkivka, Orikhove-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Oleksandr-Shultine, Bila Hora, Druzhba, Toretsk and Severne in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka sector, Russian troops made unsuccessful offensive attempts near Siverske and Opytne. They carried out air strikes near Avdiivka and shelled the town, as well as Novokalynove, Tonenke, Pervomayske and Karlivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka sector, our defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the area of Maryinka. The occupants suffered losses there. At the same time, the enemy fired artillery in the areas of Maryinka, Peremoha and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the Russian Armed Forces conducted an air strike near Velyka Novosilka, firing on Vuhledar, Shakhtarske, Zolota Niva and Cheremivka in the Donetsk region.

The Russian army continues to conduct defensive actions in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson sectors. Together with you, it carried out air strikes in the areas of Novopol in Donetsk region, Gulyaypol in Zaporizhzhia and Zmiivka, Beryslav, Kozatske in Kherson region. It also carried out artillery shelling of the towns of Burlatske, Zelene Pole, Novosilka, Novopil, Temyrivka in Donetsk region; Olgivske, Gulyaypole, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhya region; Kherson, Beryslav, Antonivka, Dniprovske in the Kherson region.

In Simferopol of the temporarily occupied Crimea, there is a tendency for the local media to silence the fact of the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by the Russian occupiers and the consequences of this disaster. It is known that the local occupation "authorities" are concerned about possible panic among the population.

An Akhmat unit was spotted in the south-western part of the temporarily occupied Donetsk. The occupiers are engaged in robbery of civilians and filming staged videos of hostilities. However, on June 6, Ukrainian soldiers inflicted an effective fire attack on the area where militants were concentrated in a training camp, resulting in 56 enemy casualties. The sanitary losses are currently being clarified.

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defence Forces carried out 19 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and two strikes on the anti-aircraft missile systems of the Russian Armed Forces. Six strike and four reconnaissance UAVs of various types were destroyed. Missile and artillery units struck five control points, six areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, two surface-to-air missile systems, eight artillery units at firing positions and two other important enemy targets.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, according to ISW, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conducted a series of counter-offensive operations with varying results in at least three frontline areas on Sunday, June 4. The defenders also launched a limited but still significant attack in the western part of Zaporizhzhia region on the night of June 7-8.
