Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed the occupiers' Su-34
In the evening of December 24, the Armed Forces of Ukraine downed a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber. The enemy aircraft went on an "eternal flight" in the Mariupol sector.
This was reported in Telegram by the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk. According to him, the attack was carried out by an anti-aircraft missile system.
He also said that Ukrainian soldiers had fired on an occupier's Su-30 fighter jet in the Odesa sector in the Black Sea, but it is not yet known whether the target was hit. The materials are being studied.
In addition, Ukrainian air defense is repelling an attack by the "Shaheds". Oleshchuk urged residents of the region to take shelter.
As a reminder, on December 22, the Defense Forces shot down three supersonic Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers in the southern sector. The Ukrainian Air Force called the downing of the enemy Sukhoi a brilliantly planned operation.
The Air Force noted that Su-34s have not appeared in enemy casualty statistics for a long time. The aggressor country has dozens of these aircraft and continues to produce them. These are some of the newest aircraft in service with the Russian Armed Forces, from which the enemy strikes with bombs and missiles.
Natalia Gumenyuk, spokesperson for the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, emphasized that the destruction of three Russian fighters at once had a significant impact on the situation in the south. The invaders are trying to find out how the Ukrainian military managed to hit their planes. Because of this, the occupiers paused in the use of guided bombs.
