Ukrainian Armed Forces repel the enemy in Novopavlivka sector, 53 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day - General Staff

Over the last day, 53 combat engagements took place in the frontline, with the largest number of hostile attacks repelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Novopavlivka sector. No less intense fighting is taking place near Avdiivka, where the occupants, supported by aviation, tried to drive our units from their positions.

The defenders inflicted losses on the invaders by striking at their bases, drone control centers and military equipment. The news from the front was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a morning summary on April 1.

It is noted that the day before, Russian troops carried out 22 missile and 79 air strikes, fired 97 missile attacks from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and settlements. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, civilians were killed and injured, and a number of high-rise buildings and other infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian airstrikes hit Oleksandrivka in Sumy region; Kozacha Lopan, Ogirtseve, Kharkiv, Borshchova, Vovchansk, Petropavlivka, Kotlyarivka, Cherneshchyna, Pershotravneve in Kharkiv region; Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Terny, Yampolivka, Chasiv Yar, Rozdolivka, Umanske, Novobakhmutivka, Ocheretyno, Berdychi, Orlivka, Novomykhailivka, Pobeda, Urozhayne, Staromayorske in the Donetsk region; Gulyaypole, Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. More than 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire. In addition, at night, the occupiers attacked Ukraine again, using three Shahed UAVs. Two drones were destroyed by air defense forces and means.

The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissya sectors remains unchanged. In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi sectors, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the border.

In the Kupyansk sector, the occupants did not conduct offensive (assault) actions, and in the Lyman sector, they tried to break through the defense of our troops in the area of Terny three times with the support of aviation, but were repelled.

In the Bakhmut sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled eight enemy attacks near Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, Verkhnekamianske, Ivanivka, Klishchiyivka and Andriivka in Donetsk region, where the aggressor tried to improve its tactical position with the support of air power.

In the Avdiivka sector, our defenders stopped 13 occupants' attacks in the areas of Berdychiv, Semenivka, Uman, Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by air power, tried to drive our units out of their positions.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian Armed Forces in the areas of Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka and east of Vodyane in Donetsk Oblast, where the invaders, supported by air power, tried to break through our defense 22 times.

In the Orikhiv sector, the occupants made two attacks on the positions of our defenders near Staromayorske, Donetsk region, and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. In the Kherson sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River twice.

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck 11 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and three anti-aircraft missile systems of the Russian army. Missile troops struck three UAV control centers, an air defense facility, an electronic warfare station, and an enemy artillery unit.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on March 30, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled a large-scale attack by the Russian Armed Forces near Avdiivka. Russian forces sent 36 tanks and 12 armored personnel carriers to assault the village of Tonenke, of which Ukrainian defenders destroyed 20 units.
