Ukrainian Armed Forces prevented enemy's attempts to encircle Avdiivka, 57 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day - General Staff

The Russian occupation army continues to use its usual tactics of terror and launches missile and air strikes, fires from multiple rocket launchers at numerous civilian objects in our country. Over the last day, the enemy launched 5 missile and 75 air strikes, fired 56 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas.

There were 57 combat engagements in the frontline over the last day. This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed For ces of Ukraine as of the morning of November 2.

Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Petropavlivka, Kupyansk, Kurylivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Cherneshchyna in Kharkiv region; Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region were hit by air strikes; Verkhnekamianske, Vyymka, Spirne, Vesele, Ivanivske, Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Semenivka, Orlivka, Lastochkine, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region; Novoselivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region; Novokaira, Chervonyi Mayak, Novoberislav, Beryslav, Kozatske, Lvov, Ivanivka in Kherson region. More than 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of the operational and strategic grouping of troops "North" on the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains without significant changes.

On the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Kupyansk sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations near the settlements of Sin'kivka, Ivanivka in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region, where our defenders repelled 10 enemy attacks.

In the Liman sector, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.

In the Bakhmut sector, the occupants tried unsuccessfully to regain their lost ground near Khromove, Klishchiyivka and Andriivka. Here, our defenders repelled 15 enemy attacks. At the same time, the invaders conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinity of Pivdenne, Donetsk region. In turn, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut in Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy, and consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Avdiivka sector, the enemy, supported by aviation, continues to try to surround Avdiivka, but our soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the occupiers. The enemy's offensive actions in the areas of Severne and Pervomaiske in Donetsk region were unsuccessful, where the Defense Forces repelled 7 enemy attacks.

In the Mariinka sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinity of Mariinka, Donetsk region. Ukrainian troops repelled over 20 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Staromayorske, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol sector, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and depleting the enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Operational and Strategic Grouping in the Kherson sector, our soldiers are conducting counter-battery combat and inflicting fire on the enemy's rear.

Yesterday, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 9 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 3 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems. The missile troops hit 5 radar stations, 2 ammunition depots, an area of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 2 control points, 3 anti-aircraft missile systems and 11 enemy artillery pieces.

As a reminder, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny said that the war in Ukraine is now becoming a positional war and this development is beneficial for the aggressor country, Russia. In order to defeat the enemy, our country needs not only weapons, missiles and shells provided by partners, but also military technologies.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian army is preparing for another wave of extremely exhausting infantry-led ground assaults on Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka.
