There was not only a training base, but also a warehouse for the delivery of FPV drones
As a result of a strike on the occupiers' training ground near Ilovaisk on January 24, where FPV drone operators of the Sudoplatov battalion were being trained, 38 Russian servicemen were killed, 20 were wounded, and two others went missing.
In addition, two project instructors were killed in the strike. This was reported by the Telegram channel Spy Dossier, which is run on behalf of an employee of one of the special services.
According to the channel, the occupiers' Sudoplatova battalion was conducting an exam for FPV drone operators at the "Eastern Training Area".
The attack was carried out by three HIMARS missiles.
The statements by Russian media that the organizers disseminated messages about the time and place of the exam in an open Telegram chat, from which the Armed Forces allegedly took the information, are not entirely true, according to Spy Dossier.
The fact is that the training ground near Ilovaisk is regularly mentioned in the "awareness reports" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are regularly intercepted by Russian intelligence. That is, a large number of Russian officers were aware of the threat, the channel reports.
Moreover, the training ground serves not only as a training base, but also as a warehouse for issuing FPV drones, which further increases the interest of the Armed Forces in this goal.
"All that was left was to wait for the right moment, which was the day of the 'ship's test,' when about a hundred servicemen arrived at the training ground," writes Spy Dossier.

- The explosions in the area of Ilovaisk were reported by local propaganda publics on the afternoon of January 24. At least 24 occupants were reported killed, with a total of 150 people at the training ground.
- The Ukrainian military showed a video of the destruction of enemy UAV operators near Ilovaisk. Russian propagandists accused the occupiers' commanders of allegedly writing publicly about the place and time of the training.
