Ukrainian Armed Forces conduct an offensive in two directions, Russian propagandists received a "special" order - ISW

Ukraine's defense forces continued counteroffensive actions on at least two sections of the front on August 7. While the Russian occupiers continue to try to mitigate the effects of recent Ukrainian strikes on key logistical nodes of the Russian Armed Forces.
At issue is the silencing of information about the defeats of the Chongar and Genichesk bridges between the temporarily captured Crimea and part of Kherson region. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) pointed to the rhetoric of propagandists.
The counter-action of the AFU
The Ukrainian General Staff said that the Defense Forces were conducting offensive actions on 7 August in the Berdyansk (western part of Donetsk and eastern Zaporizhzhya regions) and Melitopol (western part of Zaporizhzhya) directions.
The deputy head of the Defense Ministry, Anna Malyar, also added that the fighting continued south of Bakhmut, and that it was the east of Ukraine that had been the epicenter of the fighting over the past week.
"President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with the Argentine publication La Nacion published on August 6, acknowledged that the pace of counter-offensive operations is slower than expected and noted that Ukraine needs patience to win," ISW recalled.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader said that our Defense Forces are in the offensive phase of operations and continue to hold the initiative on the front.
What is the Russian Federation's propaganda focused on?
Against the background of the Ukrainian army's successes, Russian troops and occupation administrations are trying to mitigate the consequences of the recent AFU strikes on logistics hubs between Crimea and Kherson Region.
The head of the joint press center of the Southern Protection and Defense Forces, Natalia Gumenyuk, noted that the Ukrainian strikes on the bridges over Chongar and Genichesk are aimed at disrupting the plans and strategies of the occupiers. Among other things, to interfere with their ability to deliver ammunition, equipment and personnel to the front.
She also emphasized that Russian forces must now channel supplies and mercenaries through Armyansk - right on the border between the Kherson region and Crimea and within 80 kilometers of the front line.
The occupation head of Kherson Region, Volodymyr Saldo, has admitted that due to the damage to the Chongar bridge, his administration has temporarily changed the logistical and transport links between the region and the peninsula. In particular, the movement of buses between Simferopol (Crimea AR) and Genichesk (Kherson region) has been suspended.
"Russian pro-war bloggers have not commented on the consequences of the strikes at all, which further confirms our previous assessment that Russian officials may have ordered correspondents not to comment on Ukrainian strikes on Russian logistics hubs in Crimea to avoid creating panic in the information space" The ISW suggested.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the strikes of the AFU on the Chongar and Genichesky bridge forced the occupants to redirect the movement of vehicles from shorter eastern routes to longer western routes. Analysts believe that with such attacks the Defense Forces are creating conditions for decisive operations as part of a counter-offensive.
