Ukrainian Armed Forces continue counterattack near Bakhmut

Ukrainian soldiers continue to liberate their homeland near Bakhmut. As a result of successful counter-attacks, the defenders advanced to a distance of 350 to 450 metres.

Dozens of invaders were "denazified" and enemy weapons and two ammunition depots were "demilitarised". This was reported by a representative of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Cherevaty, during a telethon.

According to him, the Ukrainian Defence Forces again conducted successful counter-attacks.

"During our counter-attack actions, our units were able to advance 350 to 450 metres in some positions," Cherevaty said on the air of the national telethon.

They also inflicted damage on the occupiers in terms of manpower, equipment and ammunition. According to Cherevaty, the defenders managed to kill 54 occupants, 84 were wounded. In addition, a Grad multiple rocket launcher, three cannons, 3 UAVs, a 2S4 Tyulpan self-propelled mortar, and two field ammunition depots were destroyed.

At present, Cherevaty added, there is a decrease in enemy activity in the Bakhmut sector.

"In the Bakhmut sector, we are indeed observing a decrease in the enemy's activity. Two combat engagements took place over the last day, and between 1 and 3 over the previous day. This is much less compared to the enemy's behaviour over the previous months. Nevertheless, the intensity of fire on our positions remains high. The enemy fired 465 times at our positions with various systems and calibres. There were two air raids," said Cherevaty.

He suggested that the decrease in the intensity of hostilities on the part of the enemy is due to the significant losses the invaders have been suffering daily for several months.

"Every day, the enemy lost more than 100 occupants in killed and about the same number, slightly more, in wounded. We predicted 2 months ago that if such loss dynamics were maintained and no source of personnel replenishment was found, the enemy would be defeated. This is what actually happened," the Armed Forces explained.

In addition, he confirmed that the occupiers are carrying out "certain rotational actions", which is also associated with a decrease in the activity of hostilities.

Earlier, Cherevaty commented on Prigozhin's statement about the withdrawal of troops from Bakhmut. According to him, this is a demonstration of the "latent surrender" of the enemy groups. A representative of the Eastern Military Group noted that the losses suffered by the Wagnerites over many months would have led to the termination of the illegal armed group's existence over time.
