Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down all 20 drones and a X-59 missile Russia used to attack the country

The defenders of Ukrainian skies repelled another Russian attack that had been ongoing since the evening of yesterday. They managed to destroy all 20 Shahed-136/131 type kamikaze drones, as well as an X-59 guided missile.

Another missile launched by the occupants did not reach its target. The details of the enemy attack as of the morning of December 17 were reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is noted that before nightfall, Russian terrorists attacked our country with an Iskander-K cruise missile from the temporarily occupied Crimea and an X-59 missile from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. At the same time, the enemy launched 20 attack UAVs from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Cape Chauda (Crimea).

Anti-aircraft missile units and mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces were engaged to repel this air attack.

Thanks to the coordinated combat work, the defenders shot down all two dozen drones and an X-59 missile. These air targets were neutralized in the skies over Odesa, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Khmelnytskyi regions.

According to the military, the missile launched by the occupiers from the Iskander-K system did not reach its target.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, last night, on December 16, the defenders of the sky shot down 30 out of 31 Shahed drones. Among other things, the occupiers tried to strike military and civilian targets in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. Eight of the 14 neutralized UAVs were shot down by soldiers of mobile fire groups.
