Ukraine is already using Storm Shadow missiles against the occupiers - CNN
Ukrainian troops began using long-range Storm Shadow missiles provided by the UK to strike Russian targets. Ukraine's defence forces have received a new strike capability ahead of a counter-offensive against the occupiers.
This was reported by CNN, citing information from its own sources - American and Western officials familiar with the case.
According to the sources, Ukraine has already used Storm Shadow missiles to hit enemy targets.
At the same time, the publication noted that a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence declined to comment on the matter.
Earlier, the spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ihnat, said that Ukraine had never had such weapons as Storm Shadow. According to him, the long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles provided to Ukraine by the UK can change the rules of the game in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The state will seek to adopt them as permanent weapons.
The Storm Shadow is a long-range stealth cruise missile developed jointly by the UK and France, usually launched from the air, that can be mounted on Ukrainian Soviet-made aircraft, such as Su-24 bombers. The Storm Shadow has a range of about 560 km, but the export version of the missile can hit targets up to 300 km away.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the UK has handed over several long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Ukraine.
Russia reacted to the delivery of Storm Shadow and said it had a "negative" attitude to such military assistance. They also traditionally threatened an "adequate response".
And the citizens of the terrorist state of Russia had another hysterical attack because Ukraine receives military assistance from its allies to fight the occupiers. The Russians were so upset about the transfer of Storm Shadow cruise missiles to our army that they even began to criticise the authorities in Russia.
