Ukraine has drones capable of carrying a 250-kilogram bomb for 2000 km – Armed Forces of Ukraine
Ukraine has long-range drones in its arsenal that can carry a 250-kilogram bomb and cover a distance of up to 2,000 kilometers. These UAVs significantly change the situation on the battlefield.
This was reported by the Command of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook. They noted that the relevant weapons have worked well in the territory of the Russian Federation and the explosions at local refineries and ammunition depots are proof of this.
"The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirms the use of a long-range UAV capable of carrying a 250-kilogram bomb and covering up to 2000 km with the possibility of return. This is a unique development that changes the rules of the game on the battlefield," the statement said.
They added that the operators of the 14th Separate Regiment of the SBS have been striking behind enemy lines for more than a year. Drones cover hundreds and sometimes thousands of kilometers. There have been dozens of such operations "and more to come."
"Russian propaganda constantly claims to have 'shot down' such drones, but explosions at military-industrial complexes, refineries and ammunition depots suggest otherwise," the statement said.
At the same time, the SSU explained that most operations are not subject to public coverage, as success requires silence.
As a reminder, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and authorized the use of the Ukrainian-made Gromylo unmanned aerial vehicle system in the Armed Forces. This is a powerful version of the well-known FPV drone Hrom, which is the most effective of Ukrainian UAVs. The drone will be used to destroy enemy equipment, Russian field shelters, and manpower.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the Finnish defense company has developed a new Steel Eagle ER (Extended Range) attack drone for Ukraine, which is capable of delivering accurate and powerful strikes on enemy manpower and equipment. It is noted that the development has already been put into production, and the first prototypes have passed flight tests.
