Trump says he will "withdraw" the US from the war in Ukraine if he wins the election
US presidential candidate Donald Trump is convinced that the United States should "get out" of the war in Ukraine. And in case of his victory, he plans to ensure this "exit" because he does not rule out the possibility of a Russian victory.
According to him, Trump is going to achieve this through negotiations. The candidate made this statement during a speech in Georgia on September 24, Radio Liberty reports.
According to Trump, the current US presidential administration "dragged" the country into the Russian-Ukrainian war. Instead, the United States must "get out of it," which the Republican candidate promises to ensure if he wins the presidential election.
"Biden and Kamala (current U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President and presidential candidate from the U.S. Democratic Party Kamala Harris – Ed.) got us into this war in Ukraine, and now they can't get us out," Trump said.
At the same time, he is trying to intimidate American voters with Russia's victory and the fact that without President Trump, the United States will be "stuck in this war."
"I think we will be stuck in this war if I am not president. I will do it. I will negotiate, I will get out of there. We have to get out. Biden said: "We're not leaving until we win." And what happens if they (Russia – Ed.) win?" Trump said.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Trump thinks he knows how to end the war, but he doesn't. And that Western leaders abandon such illusions as soon as they begin to dive deeper into the situation and study it.
The Head of State also emphasized that the repetition of Minsk could not be a way out of the situation, and peace at the cost of losing territories, as Trump's team is talking about, is unacceptable for Ukraine.
