War in Ukraine
Trump no longer talks about "24 hours" to end the war in Ukraine: former Foreign Minister Kuleba gives reason
President of the United States Donald Trump has probably already realized how difficult it is to stop Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The head of the White House has changed his rhetoric and no longer mentions his words that it would take him "only 24 hours" to end the war.
This was stated by former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in an interview with France24. The former foreign minister believes that Ukrainians should not get carried away by Trump's negative statements about Russian dictator Putin.
Kuleba noted that there is no guarantee that the next time the American president will not say something similar about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy or Ukraine in general.
Trump, according to the diplomat, wants a deal and an end to the war in Ukraine, but he has realized that this is much more difficult than he initially thought.
"It will take much more time and much more effort to achieve a result. That is why we no longer hear about 24 hours. I don't believe that peace will be established in three months or 100 days, as suggested by his special representative," the former minister said.
Now the White House chief is trying to test the waters as to how responsive the enemy parties are to his threats and incentives.
According to Kuleba, in the new US administration, all decisions will be made exclusively by Trump. If he decides, for example, to provide military assistance to Ukraine, there will be no votes against it.
"I have no illusions about certain anti-Ukrainian elements in Trump's environment, but in the end, in this administration, President Trump will make decisions, and everyone else will follow them, regardless of what their opinion is," Kuleba said.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, denied the fake news about Trump's "peace plan in 100 days." He said that no such "plans" regularly reported by the media exist in nature.
