"This is the time to win": the Armed Forces explained how the weather factor can affect the situation at the front in spring

Spring weather may affect the situation at the front, slowing down the movement of heavy equipment of the Russian occupiers. This situation may give Ukrainian defenders an advantage.

This opinion was expressed by the spokesman for the Eastern Military Group Ilya Yevlash. He said this on the air of an all-Ukrainian telethon.

Yevlash noted that in the springtime, the groundwater level may rise and cause trenches to flood, which will require re-equipment of our positions on the ground.

This period can be used to our advantage, as it will be more difficult for the enemy to conduct offensive actions with heavy equipment. We are talking about tanks, armored combat vehicles, etc.

"Of course, with the onset of spring, groundwater may rise. Of course, this will lead to flooding of the trenches. This is a retrofitting of positions on the ground. This time can be won and used in our favor, as it will be quite difficult for the enemy to conduct offensive actions for some time with the use of heavy equipment, tanks, armored combat vehicles, etc." he said.

Yevlash emphasized that the time gained can be used by Ukrainian troops to improve their fortifications, as their actions are now aimed at strategic defense.

"Our main task is to wear down the enemy's potential in all its directions. This is the time that can be used productively and effectively in our favor," he added.

As a reminder, the head of Ukraine's military intelligence, Major General Kyrylo Budanov, hinted that the replacement of the Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief by President Volodymyr Zelensky was, in his opinion, the right decision. He also commented on rumors about differences in views between Valeriy Zaluzhny and the head of state.

Earlier it was reported that Budanov was once a member of an elite Ukrainian unit trained by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The intelligence officer was famous for his operations behind enemy lines, in particular in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
