"This is important": Ukraine's Ambassador to Israel calls for blocking Russian TV channels along with Al Jazeera
Ukraine's Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk praised the decision of the Israeli authorities to block the Al Jazeera TV channel in the country. The decision was made by the Israeli government following an appeal by Communications Minister Shlomo Kahai.
At the same time, the Ukrainian diplomat expressed hope that the Israeli government would respond favorably to a petition from a number of NGOs calling for the same to be done with Russia Today and other Russian propaganda channels that spread Kremlin propaganda in Israel. Korniychuk said this during a briefing at the Ukraine-Uninform Media Center.
"Today, the Al Jazeera office is being closed in Israel. This is important because this is the body that provided false information about the actions of Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist organizations from the point of view of Israel. We are raising the issue of closing Russia Today and other Russian and English-language channels that broadcast openly on Israel," he emphasized.
According to the Ukrainian ambassador to Israel, several non-governmental organizations have petitioned the government of Israel, agreeing with the arguments of the Ukrainian embassy about the danger of spreading Russian propaganda. And hopes that the Israeli government will make the right decision here and stop "the activities of terrorist channels that sow Russian propaganda" on the territory of the state.
Earlier, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine explained how the Kremlin is using the war in Israel against Ukraine.
DIU representative Andriy Yusov noted that the Russian Federation is trying to benefit from the situation. In particular, Moscow is conducting international information and psychological operations against Kyiv.
He also noted that there is evidence of cooperation between the Kremlin and the Hamas terrorist organization. Among other things, it became known that the Hamas website is hosted by Russia, and the terrorists received millions of dollars through a crypto exchange with an office in Moscow on the eve of the invasion.
