"They have the right to their opinion": Zaluzhny reacts to German intelligence officials' statements on Russia's plans for an offensive

The Commander-in-Chief responded briefly

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny responded to the article published by BILD on December 14 about Russia's plans for war in Ukraine. He did not comment on the statements of German intelligence officers about an enemy offensive on major Ukrainian cities, noting that they "have the right to their opinion."

The Commander-in-Chief made this statement in a comment to the Ukrainian media. "They have the right to their opinion," Zaluzhny said briefly.

It is worth noting that, citing insights obtained from their own sources and representatives of intelligence services, BILD journalists claim that by 2026, Russia intends to occupy a significant part of Ukraine, including outside the already partially occupied four regions on the mainland of Ukraine.

According to BILD, Russia plans to fully occupy Donetsk and Luhansk regions and reach the Oskil River in Kharkiv region by the end of 2024. The probable existence of these plans, according to ISW, is indirectly confirmed by the geography of local Russian offensives in Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv regions that can be observed now.

The Kremlin is also encroaching on most of Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Kharkiv regions, including Kharkiv . The deadline for seizing these territories is set for 2025-2026.

In addition, the Russian Federation plans to hold the existing front line in Kherson region to prevent the advance of Ukrainian troops into the occupied Crimea.

Also, according to Western intelligence services, Moscow intends to start fictitious "peace talks" without stopping offensive operations . This is exactly what Russia did in 2015, when it signed the second Minsk agreements with one hand and sent troops to occupy new settlements with the other.

As a reminder, Ukraine is preparing a new counteroffensive in 2024, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny, is already developing plans to liberate Ukrainian land from Russian invaders. The grandiose plans of the Ukrainian army are evidenced by the requests for weapons and equipment that the military command has sent to its partners from the United States.
