A loud explosion sounded in Melitopol

On the morning of May 28, there was an explosion in temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region. The circumstances and consequences of the explosion are being investigated.

At the moment it is known that the explosion occurred in the city center. This was reported in Telegram Melitopol mayor Ivan Fedorov.

According to him, the explosion is probably related to the location of the Russian occupation troops. Fedorov added that the circumstances of what happened are being investigated.

"It is loud in Melitopol. A single explosion was heard in the center of the city. Something is burning at the occupants, we find out," wrote the mayor.

Melitopol Telegram channels confirmed Fedorov's information about the explosion, but no specific details have been reported yet either.

As a reminder, a new "bavovna" occurred in occupied Melitopol on May 25. The explosions occurred in the area of the seized airfield.

Earlier it was reported that Russian Federation troops are actively preparing for the fact that they will have to defend against a counterattack by Ukrainian soldiers in the direction of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region. The invaders are building not only the usual fortification lines. They are flooding some areas to create natural barriers.
