The SSU told about raids to detect radioactive substances amid the Kremlin's provocations

Russia regularly spreads provocative statements about a "dirty bomb" allegedly created in Ukraine and constantly resorts to nuclear threats. Therefore, Ukraine periodically conducts raids to check radiation safety.

Over the past week, as part of such raids, the counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine together with other units of the Defense Forces inspected hundreds of places of mass gathering of people and critical infrastructure facilities, as well as thousands of vehicles that Russian saboteurs could use to transport radioactive materials. The course and results of the raids were reported by the SSU.

"Counterintelligence of the Security Service together with other representatives of the Defense Forces are carrying out large-scale raids of radiation safety throughout Ukraine. Such measures are due to constant threats and provocations from the Kremlin to use a "dirty bomb". As a result of comprehensive tests of dangerous radioactive materials were not found", - noted in the message.

The Service said that over the past week within the raids were examined hundreds of places of mass stay of people and critical infrastructure facilities, as well as thousands of vehicles that Russian saboteurs could potentially use for the transportation of radioactive materials.

The security forces paid special attention to monitoring checkpoints in frontline and de-occupied areas, border crossing points, etc.

Regular raids not only help to avoid dangerous provocations by the aggressor state, but also help different units of the Defense Forces to practice common algorithms of action and mechanisms for prompt response to nuclear threats from Russia.

In addition to SSU counterintelligence officers, the raids involved radiation, chemical and biological defense units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the State Border Guard Service.

We shall remind you that Russia regularly voices accusations against Ukraine of allegedly preparing a terrorist attack with a "dirty bomb". Such statements were heard from Moscow after the occupants blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in June this year. At that time, the invaders tried to divert attention from their own crime in this way.

The Kremlin also resorted to such accusations against the background of failures of the "second army of the world" in the war. In particular, the aggressor state invented that in order to "continue work on a dirty nuclear bomb", the state nuclear regulatory inspectorate of our state allegedly sent a batch of irradiated fuel from the Rivne nuclear power plant for reprocessing.
