"We have information from our partners." Ihnat explains whether air raid warning is always activated during MiG-31K takeoff

Ignat noted that when a MiG is in the sky, it is always a danger

In cases where it is known that the MiG-31K aircraft is located at a great distance from the border, Ukraine may not raise an air alert. However, the MiG-31K continues to pose a threat to Ukraine.

This was reported by the spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ihnat on the air of the telethon "United News". He emphasized that the alert is always activated in cases where it is impossible to determine whether it is a flight, a relocation to another airfield, or a MiG training flight.

"There is always a MiG alert. We have information from our partners that one, two, three, or more MiG-31Ks are in the sky. We can't say for sure whether it is a flight, a relocation to another airfield, or a training flight. We can't be 100% sure. If we have accurate information that the MiG is flying somewhere in the far reaches, then it is clear that the alarm will not be raised. But in any case, when a MiG is in the sky, it is a danger," he said.

The spokesperson emphasized that it can take only a few minutes from the moment an air alert is announced to the possible "arrival" of missiles. Therefore, MiG-31Ks remain a serious threat to the people of Ukraine.

"Let me remind you that if a missile is flying from the Tambov region to, for instance, the Dnipro, as was the case last time. It can take 4-5 minutes from the announcement that the MiG has taken off to the "arrival"," explained Ihnat.

It should be noted that the MiG-31K is used as a platform for the Kinzhal air-to-ground missile, which is difficult to intercept due to its trajectory.

Earlier it was reported that the defenders of the sky shot down 11 Shahed-type attack drones, which Russian troops used to attack Ukraine on the night of February 1 to 2. In total, the occupiers launched 24 kamikaze drones – some of them missed their targets, but some struck. As a result of the shelling, critical infrastructure was damaged.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the air defense over the Kryvyi Rih district of Dnipro region shot down three Shahed drones, but there were some hits. This led to damage at one of the substations of NPC Ukrenergo, which resulted in a power outage for more than 40,000 subscribers, including two mines. More than 100 workers remained underground but were rescued and brought to the surface in the morning.
