"There are no grounds for negotiations": Peskov reminds that Russia is against a peaceful settlement of the war it unleashed

Currently, the aggressor country Russia is not ready for any negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. The Kremlin sees no reason for negotiations.

This was stated by the Russian dictator's spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He also thanked Qatar for the proposal.

"So far, there are no grounds for negotiations," Peskov was quoted as saying by Russian propagandists, adding that "Russia has repeatedly stated that it is open to dialogue."

"Many countries declare their readiness to provide their territory (for negotiations). And we are grateful to all countries for such goodwill, including Qatar," the Kremlin spokesman added.

Russian propagandists remind that on November 27, two ceremonies were held through the Qatari embassy in Moscow to return children to their relatives in Ukraine.

As OBOZ.UA reported, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte suggested that Ukraine postpone any peace talks with Russia. This issue should be put on hold until Western allies can send more military assistance to our Defense Forces.

We are talking about support that would be sufficient to help Kyiv advance on the battlefield and gain a stronger bargaining position.

As a reminder, the administration of US President Joe Biden promised Ukraine support to ensure that our country is in a position of strength in potential negotiations with Russia.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that as of now, the Ukrainian army's forces are not enough to return all the occupied territories, including Crimea. Therefore, it is important to find diplomatic solutions that will complement military efforts, and such steps are possible only if Ukraine's positions are significantly strengthened.

The Institute of War Studies emphasized that the narrative that the Kremlin is not satisfied with negotiations that will lead to anything less than its desired "complete surrender of Kyiv" continues to be repeated. This indicates that the aggressor is still not inclined to engage in good faith dialogue and intends to destroy the Ukrainian state by military means.
