"The situation is simply catastrophic": Oleshkivska City Military Administration told about the situation in the occupied community
The humanitarian situation in the Oleshky community is deteriorating significantly. Over the past year alone, hundreds of civilians have been injured in the fighting, and more than fifty people have died.
This was reported by the Head of the City Military Administration, Tetiana Hasanenko, in a commentary to the Radio Liberty project "Pryazovia News". She noted that the situation is catastrophic because the community is still under the occupation of Russian troops.
"At the moment, the situation on the territory of the Oleshky territorial community is catastrophic. There is no electricity, gas, water. The town is constantly under fire. Drones are flying, the entire infrastructure is being destroyed under fire. Especially in Oleshky," the official said.
According to Hasanenko, 28 civilians have been injured since the beginning of the year. 21 people were wounded. There are severe cases of amputations. Seven civilians were killed.
"We are trying to keep records of people who died as a result of shelling, i.e. were injured by mine-blast traumas. In 2023 alone, we received data that 213 people were injured. Of these, 160 were wounded, 53 people died. Civilians are dying all the time," she said.
Hasanenko said that residents of Oleshky often stay in shelters, however, new civilian casualties are constantly appearing due to the shelling.
"These are only the people we have learned about, their exact data. But I am sure that the figures are not complete. Because there are people who have suffered, but no one has informed us about them. That is, these are not completely recorded facts, but we know about the victims for sure. Therefore, we cannot rely on them as complete information. I think that these figures are many times higher," the head of the CMA summarized the situation, adding that some villages in the community no longer exist.
