The situation is difficult, but not critical: Budanov tells what Ukraine needs to win the war
The head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said that the situation on the battlefield in the Russian-Ukrainian war remains difficult, but not critical. Ukraine effectively maneuvers resources and adapts to changes in strategy.
Budanov said this in an interview with the French edition of Liberation. According to the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, this war is not unique.
"Our war is not unique. It is simply a high-intensity conflict using the full range of available weapons. We are not on the verge of using weapons of mass destruction, but everything else – from submarines to strategic aviation – has been used for a long time," he said.
Budanov added that, unfortunately, no miracle technologies will help to radically change the course of a long war, as, in his opinion, other factors are much more important.
"The question is how to allocate resources, how to use what is available, and how to plan supply lines. In a prolonged war, the side that has a stronger economy and logistics wins," he said.
Earlier, Kyrylo Budanov suggested that it would be more difficult for Ukraine to drive the occupiers out of Donbas than from the territory of Crimea, which was temporarily seized by the enemy. He explained that the army of the aggressor country Russia had established continuous supply lines to the east of our country.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the Defense Forces, after many months of fierce fighting with the Russian occupiers, withdrew from the Zenit position on the outskirts of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. Currently, the troops are regrouping, replenishing supplies and equipping units at their new positions.
Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Oleksiy Neizhpapa is confident that the so-called Crimean bridge, illegally built by Russian occupiers across the Kerch Strait, will not exist. In his opinion, this strategic object for Russia may not survive until the end of 2024.
